Explore the museum at your own pace with a floor plan, or discover its stories with an audio guide. DIVA has a strong focus on accessibility and is a place where everyone feels welcome.
Audio guide
Delicate jewellery, beautifully designed tableware and precious diamonds. These objects tell remarkable stories and anecdotes. About the materials, the makers and the techniques, or about ideals of beauty and etiquette through the centuries.
With the audio guide, you will discover all the inspiring stories behind the earrings, teapots or candlesticks, in the permanent exhibition A Brilliant Story. They provide more context, so you can reflect on the beauty of several masterpieces. You can also use the audio guide to listen to the videos on the touchscreens.
- The audio guide is included in your museum ticket.
- The audio clips are available in Dutch, French, English and German.
- A visit with the audio guide lasts around 1 hour.
- Ask for the audio guide at the desk.
For babies & young children
DIVA, a family-friendly museum.
Pushchairs are allowed in the museum galleries. We do ask that you store any bags on the pushchair in the lockers on level -1.
A quiet room is available on the 2nd floor for breastfeeding. Our security staff will gladly show you how to find it.
For visitors with reduced mobility
The museum is accessible to (electric) wheelchairs and walking frames.
All exhibition rooms are accessible by lift. The lifts are 139 cm long by 105 cm wide. The lift doors are 89 cm wide.
A wheelchair is available in the museum. 20 folding chairs are also available. Please ask the reception staff.
A visitor in a wheelchair can bring a companion. The companion is allowed to enter the museum free of charge.
Assistance dogs are also welcome.
Accessible toilets are located on level -1.
The entrance to DIVA is not accessible by car. De Suikerrui is accessible only to pedestrians and cyclists.
Disabled parking spaces near the museum can be found on Steenplein, Ernest Van Dijckkaai and in Braderijstraat. The car park on the Grote Markt is a few minutes’ walk from the museum. There are 5 spaces for people with disabilities. The maximum clearance of the car park is 1.90 m.
For people with hearing impairments
Visitors with hearing impairments can use a link to stream the fascinating audio stories via Bluetooth to their hearing aid, cochlear implant or middle ear implant. Alternatively, ask for a guided tour at the reception desk to listen to the stories via the audio guide on the T-setting of your hearing aid. All videos in the permanent exhibition are subtitled.
A Flemish Sign Language interpreter accompanying visitors is allowed to enter free of charge.
For people with visual impairments
Visitors with a visual impairment can bring a companion. Companions are allowed to enter the museum free of charge. Assistance dogs are welcome.
DIVA offers a tactile guided tour with tactile elements for blind and partially sighted visitors in the permanent exhibition A Brilliant Story, available on request. A guide describes the jewellery, silverware and diamonds, and brings the stories to life.
